Post was on private land in the middle of a live industrial area owned by Tarmac Topblock, the bunker was still there when visited in 1997.
I wrote to the company asking permission to visit the site and was sent this reply:
'Thank you for your letter regarding the disused Royal Observer Corps Post on our property here at Ford.
However, we are sorry to disappoint you, but unfortunately the bunker has been filled in and concreted over and therefore no longer possible to visit.'
