Location: SK01625012. Opened 1958 Closed 1991 Date of visit: April 2011. Post T-bar mechanisn has jammed and the hatch cannot be opened. no access underground. I spoke to the owner of the post who lives in a bungalow nearby, he told me he put an iron bar across the hatch in the 1990s after kids kept going down there. The iron bar had been removed by someone a few years ago however nobody has been down there since including him as nobody can get in. Aparently the post was very dry and in good condition however id be concerned if it had regulary visits by kids!
