Post is locked. Site is a long walk from the car! Thanks to the Woodland Trust ( who own the bunker ), for arranging a visit and coming down to unlock the post for an inspection. The monitoring room is now completely stripped. The dismantled beds, toilet and carpet are stacked in the toilet recess.
The post was closed in 1976 when the nearby Herne Bay post was re-opened.
The Woodland Trust plan to turn the post into somewhere for bats.
